AREX tightened bike rules on January 5, 2026.
AREX changed bike carriage criteria effective January 5, 2026, triggered by the opening of Cheongna Sky Bridge. Non-folding bikes were initially banned on all days but the current terms (Article 50§3) allow Saturdays and legal holidays with advance online reservation on general (all-stop) trains only. Folding bikes remain allowed at all times when folded. Folded personal mobility (PM) devices with combined dimensions under 2m are allowed. Operating any device in stations or on trains is prohibited.
